Mesotherapy is a medical
procedure developed in
France by Dr. Michel
Pistor in the early
1950's and was given
formal recognition by
the French Academy of
Medicine in 1987. His
idea was to attempt to
stimulate the mesoderm,
or middle layer of the
skin, hence Mesotherapy.
Approximately 60,000
patients in France
receive Mesotherapy
treatments annually for
a variety of reasons
including cellulite
elimination, body
sculpting, facial and
neck skin rejuvenation
and as a treatment for
hair loss.
Presently Mesotherapy is used by
over 15,000 doctors in Europe,
the Far and Middle East and
South America and has recently
been introduced to the United
States. Mesotherapy is quickly
gaining recognition throughout
the U.S. as an accepted
aesthetic procedure and a
non-surgical alternative to
liposuction.
The technique for Mesotherapy
involves the injection of
substances to stimulate the
mesoderm to improve multiple
medical and aesthetic
conditions. The types of
compounds injected into the
mesoderm during Mesotherapy
depend upon the disease process
that is being treated. Natural
plant extracts as well
as traditional
pharmacologic agents are
used for the treatments.
Mesotherapy treatments
are typically given once
per week. As reduction
in cellulite is seen,
the treatments may be
given less frequently,
such as once every two
weeks, once per month,
or even once every six
weeks. Most patients
notice improvement in
only a few sessions, but
the average patient
requires ten initial
sessions given at one
week intervals. Patients
have noticed definite
cellulite reduction and
an improved, smoother
appearance to their
thighs. Some patients
have even noticed
improvement in the way
their clothing fits.
Mesolift (Non-surgical facial
rejuvenation)
Mesolift is the
technique of using
Mesotherapy injections
to give you a
non-surgical face lift.
The Mesolift can reduce
wrinkles around the
neck, upper chest and
the chin area, resulting
in a tighter, smoother
and younger appearance.
The Mesolift when used
in conjunction with
Botox and/or Dermal
Fillers can give you a
virtual face lift
without plastic surgery.
Mesotherapy for Hair Loss
Approximately one-third
of all women will
experience some form of
hair loss while 50% of
men will experience hair
loss by age 50. Alopecia
in women is attributed
to 3 factors: hormonal
changes, genetics and
aging.
Mesotherapy replaces the
vitamins and minerals
that the body loses as
we age. The medications
used in Mesotherapy
increase blood
circulation to the scalp
and stimulate the hair
follicles. |
