How does it work?
Microdermabrasion is performed with a jet of fine
crystals, which are vacuumed across the skin,
removing the dead and damaged skin cells, offering a
superficial skin polishing while leaving you with
smooth, soft, brighter and younger-appearing skin.
The dual action of mechanical exfoliation combined
with dynamic stimulatory effects of the
vacuum-suction result also in new collagen
production and skin rejuvenation. In as little as
twenty minutes, this gentle abrasive technique
efficiently produces satisfying results.
Who is a candidate?
Microdermabrasion can be used in all skin colors and
types and for anyone interested in improving the
appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, acne prone
skin, black heads and white heads, mild acne
scarring, pigmentation problems, uneven skin tones,
and dull, lifeless sun-damaged skin and is useful in
treating pigment disturbances related to hormones
and sun exposure. Persons with herpes, warts and
skin tumor are not candidates for Microdermabrasion.
|What
can I expect?
Treatments are applied through a course of 4-5
initial sessions every 10-15 days followed by
maintenance treatments as infrequently as every two
months. Microdermabrasion treatments enhance the
skin’s appearance and do what no other available
treatment can (without surgery) in combating the
signs of aging. After your first treatment, your
skin will have a fresh slightly pink glow.
Improvement continues throughout your treatment
program.
What are the safety & side effects?
It is safe to use on all skin types and colors.
Minor complications that do not affect the outcome
occur occasionally.
How long is the recovery time?
There is no down time and individuals return to
regular activities the same day.
Does it hurt?
Usually a painless procedure.
What are the pre and post treatment instructions?
Avoid excessive sun exposure and retinoic acid
creams (Retin-A) for two to three days before and
after treatment. We recommend the use of an
effective broad spectrum sunscreen whenever sun
exposure cannot be avoided. |
